Shortlists announced for 2019 CAMEO awards
The winners will be announced Monday 11 March 2019 in a ceremony at White City House to launch the 2019 London Book & Screen Week festival
London Book & Screen Week Ambassador James Runcie, author behind ITV’s hit series Grantchester and Commissioning Editor for Arts at BBC Radio 4, will be a special guest speaker at the 2019 Awards
Twelve outstanding shortlistees are announced today in the third annual Creativity Across Media: Entertainment and Originality Awards (CAMEOs). Celebrating books at the heart of the creative industries, the awards recognise the best adaptations across TV, film, stage and audio.

Books, and the view into others’ worlds they offer, never go out of fashion and it is fantastic to see these great examples of their influence on, and successful collaborations with, other brilliant creative industries.”
In a world where stories are being consumed in so many different forms, the CAMEOs recognise adaptations that have made the most impact in the last calendar year. Judges base their decisions on criteria including, but not limited to: box office sales; review coverage; critical acclaim; social media profile; industry prize nominations and more.
Expert judges from all sectors of the entertainment industry deliberated across each of the categories. 2019 judges, chaired by Helen MacAleer, are: Philippa Donovan (Smart Quill), Katrien Roos (Harbottle & Lewis), Douglas Schatz (Samuel French), Rina Gill (RGM Productions), Terri Paddock (What’s On Stage), John Lomas-Bullivant (Kickback Media), Tamsin Collison, Anna Rafferty (BBC), Ravina Bajwa (Pottermore).
The CAMEO Awards mark the start of this year’s London Book & Screen Week (11-17 March 2019), kickstarting the seven day series of events celebrating books and the films, TV programmes and virtual worlds they inspire.
