‘What if Dinosaurs didn’t die out?’ Supersaurs makes an entrance at London Book Fair
Supersaurs, the exciting new children’s imprint and epic six-part global adventure series from Bonnier Zaffre, is making an entrance at London Book Fair with a life-size Titan Tyrant. Standing 3 metres tall and measuring 7.5 metres in length, the giant supersaurs sculpture will dominate the Book Fair’s main entrance proving unmissable as publishers, authors and members of the public descend on Olympia this week.
Supersaurs is the creation of author, artist and former BBC children’s presenter Jay Jay Burridge, who has teamed up with Bonnier Zaffre to launch the ambitious programme of six middle-grade books and a range of related print merchandise. The stories are based on the concept of “what if the dinosaurs hadn’t died out, what if some survived and evolved…and a world now exists where mankind lives side-by-side with today’s descendants: Supersaurs.”
The first book, The Raptors of Paradise, will publish in the UK in Spring 2017 and the series has already received huge interest from international publishing houses. Following a significant pre-empt from French publisher Robert Laffont on the eve of Bologna Children’s Book Fair last week, Bonnier Zaffre arrives at London Book Fair with a second deal from Italian publisher Salani in place.
More than just books, Supersaurs mixes classic stories with numerous illustrations and images brought to life through extensive use of augmented reality delivered in partnership with Blippar, the leading augmented reality and visual browser app. Children around the world will be able to unlock hidden sub stories as well as puzzles and games with the free Supersaurs or Blippar app, while immersing themselves in thrilling adventure stories.
